Our history
From the garage to now
How a weekend side project in a cold garage became a studio of forty, told through the moments that changed us.
2009 — Today
Founding
2009
Four friends, one cold garage
Maya, Theo, Sam and Jonah set up two folding tables in Theo’s parents’ garage. One space heater, one shared router, zero clients. The rule from day one: nothing leaves the garage unfinished.
First client
2010
Paid in cash and croissants
A bakery down the street needed a website. We built it over three weekends and got paid half in cash, half in pastries. That one site brought in our next six clients.
Going full-time
2012
Four resignations, one Friday
Our first retainer covered four modest salaries. We all quit our day jobs on the same afternoon and bought a proper coffee machine. The garage was officially an office.
New studio
2014
Out of the garage, door and all
We moved into a former print shop with room for twelve. We salvaged the old garage door and hung it at the entrance. Every new hire signs it on their first day.
Craft
2017
From websites to products
Clients started asking for more than pages. We built our first design system and a product team to match. The websites kept shipping, now with real products behind them.
Expansion
2020
One studio, three time zones
The pandemic sent everyone home and opened the door to remote hires. Designers joined from Lisbon to Singapore. Our 300th launch went live from twelve kitchen tables.
Today
2026
Forty people, same four friends
A studio of forty, working with founders like we once were. All four of us still review every launch. The rule hasn’t changed: nothing leaves the garage unfinished.
Today — and counting
And the story keeps going.
